I had found Bob Thomas pest control thru Google. After reading lots of positive reviews I decided to give them a call. I had spoken with Bob himself over the phone who was very polite and explained the situation I had going on. [Which happened to be thousands of yellow jackets getting into my attic.] His son Jason was dispatched to me on a date and time we both agreed on. Jason was very knowledgeable and took the time to address the point of entry to the house, find the nest that happened to be in the tightest part of my attic against the outside edge of the roof. There was also a nest on my back porch that he made light work of. Small businesses are my go to, not only because of price but personal service. Their service came with a personal guarantee. If you have a bug or pest problem I highly recommend giving Bob and his son Jason a call.

This our second go with underground yellow jackets and having to call in the professionals. Bob is our first choice and will continue to be. His team showed up and found the entry points (a very tight squeeze between concrete patio and indoor fireplace bump out) that we could only blindly spray. The yellow jackets were evicted in about 30 minutes and haven’t been back since. Bob and his team are responsive and quick to fit you on their schedule. They’re a local business and with veteran ties (thank you for your service). We would recommend for your needs. Now, if you’ll excuse us, we are off to enjoy a yellow jacket free patio.

Before reading my long review, Bob is the best! Hire him :) …if needed, skip to 12/28 for just the good parts lol of Bob saving the day 12/23 day before Xmas Eve we saw a mouse run across the floor about 11pm. We were in complete shock because we’ve lived here for over a year & never had any issues! We immediately tried to barricade it in the kitchen, where it ran to, with cardboard boxes & anything we had. Piling it as high as possible because I’ve heard they can jump. I had DE (diatomaceous earth) so I lined the inside of the kitchen barricade with it hoping that would deter it. I couldn’t sleep that night due to the situation +plus it was making noise by the back of the oven! 12/24 Xmas Eve. The moment Walmart was close to opening @6am, I went to buy glue traps while my roommate stood watch! I got 2 kinds of the same brand TomCat, 1 kind was white paper that could be folded & the other was black hard plastic. I went home as fast as possible & put them down! I had located the hole under my kitchen heater where it came from & covered the entire area with both traps 12/25 Xmas. I thought I successfully put them down but I kept hearing noise! (I decided to text my landlady about an exterminator). Somehow it was passing back & forth without getting caught so I moved 1 of the black traps (they’re smaller) to a small & difficult spot that I thought the mouse was utilizing to evade the traps. IT WORKED! Caught! But I had a feeling that unfortunately I might’ve seen another 1 running behind the heater…it had different characteristics. So I put another trap in that exact spot & caught another 1! Now I’m nervous though because if there was 2, is there more? 12/26 she calls Ehrlich’s in Johnstown. “They will call me back as to when they can send out an inspector. Will let you know. Told them asap.” 12/27 she gave me a plugin device to deter mice “sonar silent ringing”. No callback from “pest control”. THAT NIGHT I CAUGHT ANOTHER 1 @11:27pm! After plugging it in all day. This is the 3rd mouse now & I’m running out of traps! 12/27 going into the 28th…I’m calling Pest Control companies nonstop after 11:30pm to just leave voicemails & hope that some1 would come out on Saturday before the New Year gets closer! 12/28 ALL OF A SUDDEN, Bob Thomas answers his phone even though it’s 1am! And he’s willing to come by later in the day. But then he texts me he’s willing to come NOW!¡! It’s a God send! He’s in Latrobe & I’m in Johnstown, that’s a 45 minute drive! He gets here @2:30am and I’m so relieved! Just by his presence! Because I have an expert here! +plus he immediately starts making jokes & makes us laugh which makes a bad situation so much better. He observes the main area & finds another area (under my kitchen sink) that had mouse droppings & found another mouse under the heater that was dead on a glue trap so I caught 4 in total! He closed the hole under sink & under heater with tape that has metal in it because mice can’t bite or chew through metal (rats can). He shared a lot of knowledge that I really appreciated like how mice won’t go more than 15 feet from their nest which calmed my nerves. He told me it’s usually 4~6 mice babies so I caught majority! He inspected my entire home but nothing else was an issue. He also loved my Xmas tree & decorations lol which was nice considering it was a horrible holiday for us. He inspected outside & the attached shed that was sharing a wall / right under my kitchen and found several big holes which is how they traveled up to my apartment! He threw bait inside the holes! And in the shed. & recommended closing them. Then put 3 bait stations surrounding my outside perimeter: 1 by the trash cans, 1 on the grass by shed and 1 parallel to the trash on the other side of the house. He finished & gave us the bill for my landlady, only $318! He left after 4am. He told us if anything happens in the next 3~5 days he comes out for free! Almost 2months & never saw them again

Called on May 30 at 9:02 am, spoke with Bob who said he could come out that evening so long as it didn’t rain. Asked if he could call me back because he was finishing up at a house. I said sure, well no call back and it started raining so no biggie. Monday comes and I still haven’t heard anything. I call again, no answer and voicemail is full. I send him a text, no response. I call again Tuesday, no answer, but I got a call back in the afternoon. He takes my name, number and address, says he’ll be able to come out this afternoon or evening. I had to work but my significant other would be home. No call, now show. Nothing from him Wednesday either. Went with someone else, granted it’s more money but at least they showed up.

I had a problem with small ants (piss ants) at my home. Bob came over to take care of the issue and did so economically and timely. More importantly my vehicle had a flat tire and Mr. Thomas helped me change it so I did not need to use the low end jack that comes with the vehicle. I was shocked and appreciative of the concern he had for my well being. Highly recommended.
