I'm so glad I found HIVE pest control! When we were under contract for our home, I called around to many pest control companies and couldn't find anyone who would inspect our home for bats and give us a quote for remediation services. That's until I found Cody at HIVE. He was knowledgeable and answered all my questions and did a very thorough inspection and was very personable. Would use again! So so glad they offered that service.

We’ve had HIVE for a little over a year now. They were the first company we looked at when we moved for pest services. Cody gave us a quote, took our information and said we were set up for their quarterly service. Great! This was all over text. No formal documents were signed or communicated. The first two services we received were great. No complaints. The technician was superb and had a fantastic work ethic. After that technician left the company is when things started to go downhill. The services started becoming really short… we’re talking less than 15 minutes for an entire outside perimeter that is supposed to include front and backyards, eaves, porch, grass, garage, etc. and the invoice stating several gallons of product being used when it is clearly obvious that barely a gallon was used (and a gallon is being generous). Then having video evidence showing the “quick job” and being lied to stating that didn’t happen. We work from home too, mind you, so we know when they're here. In addition to the “quick job”, there is absolutely ZERO communication on when services will be performed despite having every notification option checked in the portal. This was brought up in prior conversations to the owner and we were told “rest assured, this isn’t normal, our system should be sending notifications, we’ve recently swapped to a new system and are still working out the kinks”. Does it take several months to “work out the kinks” because we received nothing, ever. After several mediocre services, we decided we no longer want the service and provided written documentation stating our wish to cancel and to be provided with confirmation of our cancellation. This was at the beginning of the month. Our initial inquiry was on a Saturday, so we gave them the benefit of the doubt. 5 days go with ZERO communication. We sent out another correspondence to which we were told the owner was across the country but would look into our account when he “got the opportunity”. The next day, we receive a text that the technician has “completed their service and would like a Google review!”. Our cameras had NO ONE at the property, much less the technician shouldn’t have even been at the property given our inquiry to cancel! Oh, and they charged us for the service despite not even servicing and ignoring our request to CANCEL. (Update: they did remove the charge) Another week goes by with ZERO communication. I have to send yet another follow-up, demanding correspondence by the end of the day. A member of their team (who was very pleasant) contacted me stating my inquiry was forwarded to their manager — assuming the owner, Cody — and that he would be reaching out to me by end of day. Can you guess what happened? ZERO communication. I called again the next day and reached the same pleasant team member who verified that my account was still active and confirmed the owner did not reach out to me. They stated that he is the only one “authorized” to perform cancellations in their system and when asked for a direct line to resolve this I was told that is also not “authorized” — so there is no way to cancel service because the only user “authorized” to do anything is the owner who WILL NOT communicate, got it. They did say they would reach out again to their manager with my contact details. Can you guess what happened? ZERO communication. What’s interesting about this though is that the owner can go on Google reviews and respond to same day reviewers AND answer same day new clients. Existing clients? Forget you! Cody responded to 11 Google reviews at the time of this writing since our initial inquiry to cancel 3 weeks ago and 4 of those were during a time where he was “on the other side of the country”. Guess he never found the right “opportunity” to fit us in. I would tread very cautiously with this company. What others have experienced in these reviews is real, we’ve experienced it firsthand as outlined here. The business tactics are volatile and repugnant. I would not recommend this business, period.

Colter was amazing and did a perfect job for me. He explained everything he was doing and was very thorough in his work. He went above and beyond in the service he provided. I have had Hive pest control for a couple of years now and I am very pleased. Thank you🙂

Found Hive Pest Defense through Angie’s List. Cody reached out quickly and gave a rundown of services and cost. Will showed up shortly after that and inspected the property. They were both very nice and professional. I am very impressed so far and I will update my review next month after I see the results.

Heard about Hive Pest Defense from several of my son's co-workers who own rental properties. They all had 5 Star experiences. Corey and his techs have been wonderful to work around my schedule and chaotic family. Corey did the initial inspection, was very thorough explaining what my mice problem was and how he and his team could help. Corey prioritized the steps needed and listed them for me to remember. I appreciate Corey didn't give a hard sell or try to push me into a contract. Finding I had a mouse problem was anxiety provoking because in 62 yrs of caring for a home I have never had a pest/rodent before. Corey put my mind at ease.

*UPDATE Completely different treatment as a customer that has signed their contract, than being a potential customer. I was told after initial treatment that they would return 2 weeks to the day for the second round, unfortunately, they no-call no-showed. When I called to find out what was happening I was told I was due for service…which is what I had just told them . We rescheduled and they were very nice with working around our schedule for the reschedule, however, I was told to give them a 2 hour window and they guaranteed they would show. I got a text at 12:16 pm saying the tech was on his way. He was scheduled for 3:00 pm and when he pulled up to the house he parked in front of the neighbors house then left 10 minutes later. I did not hear from anyone until the Tech showed up at 5:45 pm. He was a nice kid just trying to go and do, but he left without talking about what had been done or scheduling my next appointment. He also left my gate open so the dogs almost got out. Now I’m left with two boxes that I’m assuming are rodent traps, no next appointment scheduled, and zero confidence that they can show up to do their job. I write this review not out of malice but out of frustration. We used HIVE for a little less than a year. They are extremely nice people, every time we interacted with one of the technicians they were great. HOWEVER, for reasons of our own, we decided to cancel our services with them when our contract ended in April. I was under the impression that this was done, but sometimes I would get a random text saying a tech was coming to the house (no one ever came to my knowledge). Each time I would get these texts, I’d call their number and leave l a message, texted the number it said to text and asked for them to call back to make sure we were good. I didn’t hear from anyone for MONTHS, didn’t receive a bill, no call, nothing so I thought we were good. Until yesterday I randomly got a message someone was coming to the house- I tried to call them again and no answer. The tech showed up and it got really uncomfortable when I told him we don’t want the service. I had him call his boss and he was really nice, however they said I can’t cancel on the day of which is crazy because there was no way for me to know they were coming! Very frustrating when there was NO communication or heads up prior to the 10 minute warning. And even more frustrating when we haven’t heard from them in months. The owner reached out to us and we were able to get it sorted out after I raised a little hell.

I love hive! I have been with them for a few years now and they are super easy to work with. I love that Cody the owner is very personable and all of his technicians are super friendly and thorough. My technician right now is Colter and he is great. I would recommend hive to anyone!

UPDATE: 09.17.25 Will S. with HIVE Pest Defense came by to check in with the traps they had placed for us. He was very detailed in his communication and made us aware of the steps he was taking in order to assist us. There is something to be said about good customer service and we have experienced nothing but the very best. Thanks Will S. HIVE Pest Defense is simply amazing! On Labor Day Weekend I started searching around for quotes for pest control. I truly didn't think I'd hear back from anyone until Tuesday due to the holiday. In a matter of minutes I received a call back. I spoke with Cody, who quoted me a great price and also offered to swing by today, SAME DAY to help me with my problem. When he arrived I asked a million questions. He was kind and thorough. Simply amazing! Thanks Cody for your support. If you're looking for ALL things pest control, Call this company!
