We bought our house in February 2025, and signed up with Orkin to address some signs of mice, plus to secure ongoing pest control. The reason I give 2 stars instead of 1 is because they do seem to have successfully addressed the mouse situation (assuming their work holds up through the winter). However, for ongoing "pest control" we have been incredibly disappointed and cancelled after our last "treatment". With quarterly treatments since February, we still routinely find live spiders and there are visible webs all around the exterior of the house. I understand that no pest control is going to be 100% successful; but, when the tech arrived for our most recent treatment and I mentioned the ongoing issue, he said (and I quote) "there's not much we can do about spiders." ??? What? For $60+ a month, that is insane. We cancelled immediately and are seeking an alternate provider––someone local who has integrity, unlike these national companies who lose nothing when a customer cancels. We were supposed to have been contacted by the regional branch manager to discuss the cancellation and they never called. Not surprised, but disappointed.

There was confusion on Orkin’s technician first visit. They thought they were doing a follow up. We were forced to call customer service to schedule an actual first appointment. We were given a 2 hour window, and the technician never showed. Another conversation with customer service provided no resolution. Customer service escalated to the branch and assured us that we would get a call. 24 hours no response. Another call, another assurance we would get a call. Another 24 hours no response. Only solution was to cancel the service, and request a charge back on our credit card. I’d give them negative stars if possible.

First time customer of Orkin and was for some reason- initially skeptical. We bought an old home a couple years ago and had noticed a few issues with pests. Bugs and even a mouse in the garage and basement. Committed to a package of 6 Visits per year, and so glad I did! The technician Chris, was with us through the duration of the year, which was nice because he had an ongoing context to what the circumstances were. (Old home- 3 kids, and pets) He consistently showed up on time and was super personable- even the dog was cool with him and my dog is a bit particular. Chris was very knowledgeable about the various control methods and insightful on how to proactively avoid situational concerns- like seasonal pests such as ants and wasps. In the garage and basement, he placed a few bait boxes strategically, and we had definite activity early on. But to my pleasant surprise- subsequent visits only proved that the methods were working and we had no further signs of activity over the course of the year. There’s a huge satisfaction in knowing a house is under control- outside of typical family chaos- and Orkin proved my skepticism wrong. I would absolutely recommend them to anyone looking for that reassurance for living comfortably in your own surroundings!

I’ve been Orkin customer for years. I needed to reschedule my appointment today and it was easy. Chris arrived within the 2 hour window and did an excellent job identifying the problem area and providing a solution.

Orkin sent me a racist technician that asked if the person who lived in the trailor before me was Mexican, because "They just have a lot of roaches." He did not listen to the issue I am having. He did little to no work and I have been charged $190 dollars. I feel like I have been robbed and insulted. I have contaced them twice already since, and I'm waiting to hear back from them. Orkin promised me they would "make it right". I will remove this review if they actually get back to me but I seriously doublt they will.

Steven was knowledgeable and thorough. He explained every detail and listened to my explanation of our situation. I would recommend Orkin for pest control needs definitely.

It has been absolutely fantastic for more than 2 years! Nate is a wonderful person. Very nice, very quick, very knowledgeable. And hits every spot around the house. Nate always asks us if there is anything else and asks how it has been with no bugs 😃

Orkin was at our place in Arlington Heights within 4 hours of calling! They helped us identify the issue and get a corrective action plan together in no time. Big thanks to them!

Brandon was awesome. Very helpful and friendly. He explained the service and exactly what needed to be done. He was thorough and kept everything organized so we know exactly where the traps are and what to look for. He is a great technician.

I’ve had a very disappointing experience with Orkin. They are not good at keeping scheduled times, and when they do come out, the service hasn’t helped. I called about an ant problem, but instead of solving that issue, they sprayed chemicals that seemed to make the ants worse and left me pads for catching mice—which I don’t even have. On top of that, nobody follows up or calls back after visits. Very unprofessional and not effective.
