Hi, I’m Rohith. While passing through Malvern, I saw a tiny bird that got hit and couldn’t fly. I carefully picked him up using a cloth and paper towels and started looking for help. First stop—a nearby dog shelter. Nope, no luck there. Then I called a few wildlife centers—one only took bats (yes, bats 🦇), and the others couldn’t help. Finally, I found Philadelphia Metro Wildlife Center, about 25 minutes away. When I got there, I explained everything to a kind lady, and she immediately took the bird, smiled, and said, “His name is Robin… and don’t worry—we can fix his feather.” Then, in one of the most unexpectedly wholesome moments ever, she showed the little robin to a group of other robins they were already treating. Now The little Robin felt safe—he got some homies. 🐦 They even gave me a form and a number so I can check on him later. Super sweet people, genuinely doing amazing work. Thank you so much for what you do!

This rescue helped a European starling I found that was unconscious. I had to drive an hour away because a refuge near us doesn’t help the starlings since they’re invasive. I wanted the bird to have help regardless and this center was open arms with a patient ID number for me to check on his status and even gave my little one a tour to see their chicken and it’s chick that recently hatched. Also, we found out he did well and was released! 😄

We had a sweet little bird fly in our windows. Thankfully, she made it through but definitely hurt her wing. We called Metro after allowing the little bird some time to regroup. We noticed she could only flutter. One more call to Metro and we zoomed over as the nice young lady was waiting on us as it was about to close.

Horrible. I called & asked for help & the lady hung up on me for no reason. Then she didn’t answer when I called back multiple times. Don’t lie on me! Never was abusive, never was belligerent or demanded any service. I asked “who to call” when they said no & got hung up on. Nobody was trying to just “dump” the turtle. Had him over 5 years.

Philadelphia Metro Wildlife Center took in an injured starling I found one Summer Sunday without hesitation. I rushed there not sure what to expect but they have been nursing him back to health. In an update call, I also learned he has other starling friends to keep him company in his recovery. I was amazed they rely entirely on the public and I'm going to make a donation there in support of the bird I found and others. I am greatful they exist.
